Water and Tree Blessings
Water, the Elixir of Life
Water is the elixir of life. As we know, our physical body and the body of our earth is made up of 70% water. Survival of all species is dependent on clean water. I envision a planet where water abundantly flows cleansing, nourishing and quenching the land and our bodies - free from monetary exchange. A deep respect and relationship with water is usually inherent within those born under the sign of Pisces as I was.
As a child much of my days were spent in a pool, the ocean, or by a stream. Summers were spent on the Atlantic or Pacific Oceans with great reverence to its power and healing energy. As an adult, I received guidance that part of my dharma in this lifetime, was to heal our precious life giving waters. Science has shown the sensitivity and reactive nature of water and how it can mirror not only nearby sounds, but also the frequencies of thought. If we pray, sing, make offerings and hold love towards our waters, the waters will respond in kind.
My Daan (giving without expectation of return) began in June of 2019 with intentions to bless 3 - 4 rivers, lakes or streams in each of the 24 counties in Maryland. Along with other volunteers, 6 counties were covered in 2019.
Honoring the Waters
There are various ways to show appreciation for our waters:
Flower offerings
Offering of healing waters (from other sources)
Crystals and stones infused with prayer
Ash, sand or stones from ceremonies
Drawing sacred symbols into the water
Song, chant, vocal toning, musical instruments
Feet fully immersed in water holding the intention of Peace
Join together as the sun grows warmer to continue this most vital offering of expressing our respect to the waters in our own unique and honoring way.
Connecting with Trees
Like all living things, trees carry a unique energy or vibration. The vibration of trees is much slower, deeper, and more patient than most living creatures. The roots of trees dig deep into Earth, the deeper their roots, the higher they rise to the skies. They absorb the subtle energies of the Earth as well as the universal force of the sky and hold much wisdom.
Because trees are so firmly anchored to the Earth, they’re wonderful teachers of grounding offering us security and stability. Just walking under them, or placing your hands upon them will work wonders to help you ground and center your energy.
Just place your chest (heart) or back against the tree placing your palms against the tree. Allow yourself to relax and melt into stillness and communion with the tree. Imagine loving energy running from your heart down through your feet and deep into the earth. Perhaps ask a question and wait for a response.
Be open, relaxed and just listen. Allow the tree to guide you to your healing. It may assist in allowing your intuition to flow. Jut like with people, spend more time with a particular tree and a deeper relationship may evolve.
